Bachelors degree?
Anyone have a general studies degree? What kinds of jobs can you get with it? I’m in my senior year and might graduate with this degree. The areas would be music, and two of the following education, anthropology, or American Sign Language. I am thinking I might want to be a college professor. Do you know if you can be a professor with this degree?

It will be tough. You usually need a degree in the field you want to be a professor in. Take an extra year to get the courses you need. Why have a 4 year degree that you have litle opportunity with and low job prosects when you can spend an extra year and it can make a significant difference (even with the extra cost of going another year). Try applying for jobs now and see how many would be willing to hire you by graduation date. Then you will have a great idea of where you stand. If there is still time, definitely get an intenship. It makes a world of difference. A bachelors is good but after tht its all about how much experience you have. Take another year and get those extra classes and an intership and you will be fine.

no. you’re going to need a masters and then a PhD.
and it depends what you want to teach. Usually, you major in what you want to teach…so it really depends on your graduate major.

Doors will open with ASL. Look at bizarre places like the FBI (heavy accounting) or the CIA (you’d be surprised) or a court translator. Really depends on your willingness to move around and find somewhere you love doing the things you love. With ASL, like many languages, will open a wide variety of doors…start with translators and work your way out.
