i would say that ohio st – michigan is the biggest, although it think ohio would settle with beating florida in something, lol. but i tell you one that is overlooked is the 4th longest rivalry in college football, and recently spiced up because of brawl and spurrier vs. another bowden: the Carolina vs. Clemson rivalry

Of course, I’d say… everyone wants to be as good as UT, so… we’re rivals with everybody.

    GO UT!

And don’t you dare say anything about us sucking… we had a bad year this year, and those aggies paid off the refs.

OSU v Michigan hands down, the biggest rivalry in college sports. You have two huge prestigious programs matched up against eachother, you cant compare other rivalries to this one. When you ask a fan to rate top 10 rivalries. If they think their schools rivalry is the best, which do they put second? OSU v Michigan, then after that it will vary. If the person says OSU v Michigan is best then what about the other rivalries? They are scatered in whatever order. If you notice no matter what OSU v Michigan is always either #1 or #2, so for example how can people from Auburn Alabama say theirs is best and OSU Michigan is second, when at the same timeTexas Oklahoma says theirs is the best and OSU Michigan is second. Then again Army Navy says theirs is the best while they say OSU Michigan is second, at the same time Harvard Yale says theirs is the best and again… OSU Michigan second. While it is almost always the same, people say OSU Michigan as the best, and theirs is second, or say theirs is the best and OSU Michigan is second. I dont know if you notice what i notice but the trend is OSU Michigan is a top rivalry in everyones mind. So therefore the consensus must be that on average, OSU Michigan is the best rivalry.

This next part is from an article:
The Yankees and Red Sox are a pretty intense rivalry, but how often are both teams very, very good at the same time? Lately they have been, but not historically. The Lakers and Celtics were this good for a generation, but that, too, ended. In the NFL, rivalries ebb and flow with the constantly churning rosters.

That’s what elevates Ohio State-Michigan beyond the other great rivalries — the teams get one shot at it and there’s usually something really, really big at stake. If it’s not a shot at the national title, it’s the difference between a BCS bowl and a consolation bowl. It’s usually also for the Big Ten title, a distinction that means a great deal in the Midwest.

    Whowethoughtheywere… Great answer.

    Depends on where you live

I’m gonna say OSU v Michigan because they have the 4th and 1st biggest stadiums in america and always sell out for their game. Other rivalries are too one sided

Army-Navy, they may not be the best teams in College Football, but that is one game that is all about Pride. Most of the time this is the last game these teams will play. Weeks after the game there are a good number of players who are set to go off to more training or even to be shipped out. ONe last hurrah. This game is all about Pride. Nothing else. You can’t beat that.

ohio st. vs. michigan , c’mon now , when 120,000 people pack a stadium to watch a football game, you know its hardcore.
tex vs. ok, its good but cant touch it. plus for person who said, ", everybody wants to be as good as TEX." well not really, winning 1 championship in the last 38 years is hardly considered good, maybe in your eyes. Their not even the best in the big 12

    osu vs michigan

all the other "heralded rivalries" are only regional. the osu/michigan game gets a national audience EVERY time. more tradition. more fans come out.

others rivalries are exciting for what they’re worth, but they don’t even come close.

Michigan vs. Ohio State, these teams and fans just absolutely hate each other. you better not park your car near the opposing teams stadium if it has any team logos on it, because it will get trashed, flipped, and broken. this rivalry goes beyond the field. they just hate each other.

This game usualy decides the Big Ten Championship. Both teams hate each other. Woody would not buy gas in Michigan and made his team push the bus across the border. Nothing beats Ohio State and Michigan.

    Go Bucks!!!!!!!!!!

    Army – Navy?
    Michigan – Ohio State?
    USC – Notre Dame?
    USC – UCLA?
    Clemson – South Carolina?
    Texas – Oklahoma?
    Texas – Texas A&M?
Florida – Miami – Florida State?
    Oklahoma – Nebraska?
    Notre Dame – Michigan?

For me, I suppose the best rivalry is one where both sides only consider themselves to have one main rival. Teams who could consider the season a success if they beat that rival, even if they otherwise lose every game. As a result, Army – Navy must the the best rivalry. And who wants to get in the middle of a rivalry between two schools who train their entire student bodies how to kill and require firearm training?

Everyone else fails because they are all power schools who would fire the coach if they only beat their nemesis. Michigan – Ohio State is probably 2nd, Oklahoma – Texas third.

Best rivalries also must be appreicated and anticipated by the public that arent fans of the schools (meaning GOOD teams… no one watches the Army vs Navy game…). So truthfully year by year basis:
    1. OSU vs Mich
    2. USC vs UCLA
    3. Texas vs UO

I don’t think anything really compares to the Tennessee – Florida rivalry, especially when the game is in Neyland Stadium. The pure hate and just dislike for the other team makes for a great atmosphere in the stadium. No matter the ranking of either team, anything can happen on any given saturday between these teams, that’s just how the rivalry goes. Go Vols!

Another one would be Auburn – Bama, although I like neither of the teams
