Where can I volunteer overseas without a Bachelors degree or a lot of money?

I want to volunteer overseas but do not have a bachelors degree or a lot of money. Can anyone give me some ideas on where to apply? I’m interested in teaching (English, Math, Physics, etc), environmental conservation, building homes, setting up telecommunication infrastructures or pretty much anything. I’m a 28 year old male and currently work testing computer storage options (hard drives, tape, NAS, etc). My highest level of education is an Associates in Electrical Engineering.

Most reputable volunteer organisations require well motivated, well qualified and experienced people on their teams. It’s not that easy to get in if you don’t have the background.

Other volunteer organisations are just after your money and there have been cases where they offer little or no assitance when a problem arises. If you do find one which accepts you, check them thoroughly to make sure they’re not just money-making exercises!

If you don’t have a degree there are still possibilities to teach overseas but it’s just a little harder to find work. Many have done it though, so don’t necessarily be put off.
