I want to move to the pacific northwest, Portland or Seattle, and eventually, after a year or two, further my education. I’m getting a B.S. in General Studies and am wondering what the job market would be like up there. I have very little work experience of any type, two call centers, one 8 months and the other 9 months, with large gaps due to my school schedule. What kind of problems might I have finding work up there? I could always continue customer service, but I’d like to grow up a bit. I’ve thought about social work, but I’m really clueless what I could actually do with my degree.

I hear people saying it’s impossible to do, and otherss that have gotten degrees while serving. I know it all depends on your job, branch, and commitment.

BUT

Is it really possible? I’m 24 and I don’t want to join up knowing i’ll be 28 when I get out, with no education!
